Eight hours there. One shot. And eight hours back. With a dismembered reindeer in their backpacks. There are too many reindeer in Iceland. That's why 1,500 are released for culling every year. Who gets to hunt is decided by a lottery. Three brothers are among the winners. On a weekend in August, they set out toward a plateau in eastern Iceland. Out here, existence feels more existential.
